Global Challenge Dubai has been won by fnatic, following a 2-0 score over MYM in the Grand Final.
After placing second in Chengdu, the team currently ranked first in the world crowns their work in Dubai with first place.
The Grand Final started off on inferno, where fnatic got to start as T. Strong performance but fnatic lead to a 10-5 score at halftime, denying MYM several times to win clutch rounds. On the CT side of inferno fnatic had it figured out as well. MYM could see fnatic taking six rounds against the five MYM had secured, leading to a 16-10 win for fnatic.

Moving to train, a map fnatic is known to play strong on. MYM did however want to prove what they are capable of on the map, which fnatic realized several times, when being eliminated, even with the bomb planted. First half went in favor of MYM, with a 11-4 score. As CT fnatic proved their worth, but all of a sudden MYM took those important rounds, approaching 14 rounds won. From this point and on, MYM saw the remaining rounds going to fnatic, meaning a 16-14 victory for fnatic on train and 2-0 overall.

Winning Global Challenge Dubai, fnatic once again proves that they are the team of the year. They got their revenge from the Chengdu final against SK Gaming, but the road to the playoffs was tough. We once again learned that fnatic did not do good in the group stage and was on the edge of crashing.

They did pull it together and in the playoffs they once again found the play them need to win tournaments like this. With the victory fnatic receives $10.000 and a direct invite to the Extreme Masters IV World Championship Finals next year at CeBIT.

The tournament also write history, as it is the first time at an international event of this size, sees first, second and third place being from the same country.
