FaZe best G2 in triple

FaZe have bested G2 2-0 following a triple-overtime battle on Dust2, advancing to the semi-finals at DreamHack Masters Dallas, where they will take on ENCE.
G2 chose Inferno to kick off the second quarter-final, but it was FaZe who got off to the better start with a key double from Olof "olofmeister" Kajbjer giving them the pistol round. Trading the first couple of gunrounds, the European mixture were in control of economy and continued to control the half with a 6-1 lead.
Richard "shox" Papillon's 1v3 clutch on the B bombsite in the following round inspired the Frenchmen to get back on their feet and secure five rounds, but more big plays from olofmeister saw FaZe close out the half with a comfortable 10-5 lead before switching over to the offense.
There, Filip "NEO" Kubski & co. rallied to map point with five in a row, and although G2 tried to hold on, they were too far behind to attempt a real comeback as FaZe finished off the opening map at 16-8, denying Audric "JACKZ" Jug a close 1v3 clutch attempt.

Dust2 followed with FaZe once again taking point, this time on the back of a quad-kill play from Håvard "rain" Nygaard in the first pistol round. With Ladislav "GuardiaN" Kovács putting up a fantastic ace in the fifth round, the score was soon 6-2 in favor of his team, but that is when G2 began finding success. Two A attacks went their way, which broke the bank of FaZe, who struggled for the rest of the first half, apart from one round in which the Slovakian defended B one more time with a triple-kill.
The back-and-forth continued in the second half, with G2 clinching the pistol round and FaZe responding in the second. Janko "YNk" Paunović's side retook the lead at 10-9, but it didn't last long, as shox and Kenny "kennyS" Schrub ensured four in a row. Still, it wasn't enough to end things in regulation, with FaZe stepping up late to bring the second map to overtime.
After being unable to close out their first match point opportunity in regulation, FaZe kept struggling at the final hurdle, as they were in the same position twice more over the course of the first two sets of overtime, with kennyS often playing spoiler in late-round scenarios. Finally, in the third, FaZe managed to come out on top after another full set, with GuardiaN and Nikola "NiKo" Kovač both breaking the 40-kill mark at 25-23.
